1.Call To Order – Eric Christensen, CENA Pres.  (12:15)

4.Committee Reports
a.ENPC-Penny Cole, Pediatrics  Committee Chairperson
i.ENPC instructor’s score summaries have been received from course ops. and will be distributed this week with update letter on recent course changes.
ii.ENPC/PALS Renewal option has been discontinued.  Continuing the ENPC/ PALS renewal option would require another ENPC course revision.
Detailed information is available on the national ENA website.
iii.ENPC Re-certification Course – Course revision is nearing completion and will mirror TNCC Re-Certification Course. (One lecture, one skills review and
testing).  The course challenge option is still available.  CEU certificates for all ENPC and TNCC should reflect actual hours of education.
iv.Reminder of change in CEU calculation from 50-minute hour to 60-minute hour effective Jan. 1, 2007.
v.ENPC Administrative Procedures – ENPC/TNCC  Course Admin faculty met in Jan. and reviewed surveys of Oct/Nov 2006.  Changes may be available
by May TNCC role out.  Changes will take effect Oct. 1, 2007 and will include a summary sheet.  Reminder: ENPC and TNCC instructors should be
signing a conflict of interest form and submitting to course ops.
vi.Course Grants - $1000 will be distributed by National ENA to each state for 2007 courses.  National is requesting grant use reports and will potentially
distribute an additional $1000 depending on national budget and grant usage.
vii.ENPC/TNCC Retention of  Course Evals. and Records:  is the responsibility of the course director.  Records should be retained for 6 years.  State
chairs will continue to review evals. but not retain those records.  Retained records should include, attendance roster, summary performance report,
faculty roster and summary of evaluations.
b.TNCC – Penny Cole and Eric Christensen for Pam Bourg, Committee Chairperson
i.TNCC role-out scheduled for Oct. 1, 2007.  Colorado has seven representatives who will attend role-out sessions in Chicago.  (May, June or July). 
Those trainers will return to Colorado and be responsible for dissemination of course revision information and testing.  Eric and Penny will attend the
May session.   Once TNCC instructors have re-certified they may begin teaching the sixth edition courses.  Deadline for completion of role-out and
revision is April 1, 2008.  All courses taught after April 1, 2008 will be 6th edition courses.
c.ENCARE – Eric Christensen for Vicky Cassabaum Committee Chairperson
i.Colorado Seatbelt Safety Week Project planned.  Vicky will be sending a letter out to each CENA member regarding the specifics of the program. 
Vicky will also be getting materials from CDOT regarding the program.  Regional contact people will be recruited to assist with implementation of the
project.
d.Membership – Eric Christensen for Jesse Gabriel, Committee Chairperson
i.Hospital liaison program is being evaluated and addressed.  Eric asks that each CENA member visit the national website and update their contact
information.  Several emails have been returned as being inaccurate, prohibiting communication with that CENA member.  Eric will also bring a state
roster to the next CENA meeting (June 21, 2007 Breckenridge) for review and corrections.
e.Education – Don Walker, Committee Chairperson
i.Summer Wilderness Conference will be July 13-14-15, 2007 at Arkansas River Headwaters State Park. (South of Buena Vista)  CEUs will be awarded. 
Don will distribute additional information on request.  Those interested in helping with the conference should contact Don.  Contact info on the web.
ii.Winter Conference is in the planning stage.  Expected to be in mid December.  Contact Don if interested in helping or attending.
f.Government Affairs – Eric Christensen for Shawn Ulrich, Committee Chairperson
i.Committee is currently working on Legislation regarding assaults on health care workers.  Opportunity exists for those interested in being involved. 
Members are strongly encouraged to contact their local congressman and/or senator to support legislation in favor of making assault a mandatory
felony offense.  Contact Shawn for more information.  Contact info. is on CENA website.
5.Old Business – Eric Christensen
a.Scholarship winners: Michelle Metz, Denver, Mike Levine, Denver, Terrence Horne, (Paramedic) Denver
b.Discussion and voting using Roberts Rules pertaining to changing the current Strategic Plan section 1:7A. Changes will become effective immediately
(unanimous vote in favor of change)  to read:
Two Scholarships, $750 each will be awarded for RN to BSN or BSN to Advanced practice and
Two Scholarships, $350 each will be awarded for Student nurses pursuing their RN
All applicants must be ENA members and submit applications by:
Spring Semester deadline February 01, 2007 and Fall semester deadline of September 01, 2007.
c.Discussion and voting using Roberts Rules pertaining to the retroactive award (unanimous vote in favor of award) to grant scholarship of $350.00 to student
nurse Cheyenne Quinn, Colorado Springs.  Cheyenne submitted her grant request by the Feb. 1, 2007 deadline.
d.EMT education scholarship grant remains unchanged.
e.By-Law revision to evaluate term limitations and requirements for CENA executive officers.  Discussion initiated by Eric Christensen.  Call for volunteers to
evaluate and possibly rewrite the by-laws. Volunteers include Don Walker, Pres. Elect., Mari Salmi, Charlene Kirby, Kathy Hoza-Witler and Mike Levine.
Eric will have the current by-laws posted on the CENA website available for all members to review.  Eric will email potential dates for committee meeting.
