About Colorado Emergency Nurses Association...
According to some dusty records I saw many years ago….Colorado Emergency Nurses Association was formed in or around 1978.  I am no longer in possession of those records,   but I do recall some of the history!  I welcome additional history from other members.

For many years, Colorado was a 3 tier state.  There was one State Council with 3 active Chapters throughout the State.  One chapter was based in Vail, one in Colorado Springs and one in Denver.

In the early 2000’s, National ENA promoted a trend of consolidating State Chapters into one State Council.  In Colorado, this option was voted on by the membership, all the Chapters were closed, and all the resources were combined into what is now the Colorado State Council of the Emergency Nurses Association.

I have been told that Colorado hosted a General and Scientific Assembly in Denver in the early 1990’s.

Denver has been on the short list as a site for one of the annual conferences, but has not been selected in recent years.

Many of our Colorado Members have been recognized nationally for their contributions to Emergency Nursing.  I would love to hear from these members…perhaps you could submit a story about your involvement?

Currently, we have a Board consisting of 5 members. Our membership is pushing 800, and we hope to grow to 1000 this year!  We have meetings monthly, typically on the first Wednesday of each month.  We try to offer free education at our meetings and do so at least once a quarter. Visit the meetings tab for times, locations, agendas, and past meeting minutes.

There are MANY great benefits to the members  of Colorado ENA.  All of the details to these benefits are outlined in the Strategic Plan.

But here are a few of our most popular benefits include:

Please send any historical information you may have about our Association, and do not hesitate to contact any delegate with questions.
